Ines Di Santo Bridal Collection with hair by Felix Fischer for Moroccanoil

Monday, 02 December 2013 14:35

Felix Fischer for Moroccanoil updates a vintage bridal beehive with texture for the Ines Di Santo Couture Bridal Collection.

The Ines Di Santo Couture Collection takes flight into a dreamy, sensual, otherworldly realm with a feminine palette that introduced a lavender hue in addition to cameo pink, blush and champagne.  Known for her signature mermaid styles, it seems only fitting that the collectionbe partly influenced by the legendary city of Atlantis. The underwater world inspired the airy silhouettes that seem to float along with sublime lightness.

Leading runway stylist Felix Fischer for Moroccanoil gave sophisticated couture buns an updated vibe by amplifying shape and texture. Smooth buns are out, roughed-up buns are in. By adding waved extensions before shaping the hair into oversized bubble-buns, Fischer succeeded in adding a unique textural depth to an an otherwide classic look.

“I was inspired by the exceptional beauty and design of Ines’ gowns, and the brilliant hair looks created for the great couture houses in the 60’s by master stylist Alexandre De Paris, as well as the looks he did for Elizabeth Taylor at the time,” he explained.

  • Ines Di Santo Bridal Fall 2014 - Couture Collection

    Otherworldly beauty

  • Shimmering lightness

  • A feminine palette that includes champagne

  • Elegance with a roughed up texture

  • Mermaid lines inspired by the watery realm of Atlantis

  • Step 1

Prepare the hair with a few drops of Moroccanoil Treatment or Moroccanoil Light for blondes followed by Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream for a smooth soft hold.  I used quite a bit of product since I wanted to create a unique effect so the hair would look really shiny, smooth and modern, almost lacquered."

  • Step 2

Spray the surface of the hair with Moroccanoil Treatment, followed by Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray, then pull the hair back and up, creating a high ponytail.

  • Step 3

I curled my various hairpieces after preparing them with Moroccanoil Treatment and Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream to define the curls without any stiffness.  After releasing the curls, shake them out without brushing to emphasize their cascading texture. After joining the rest of the hair, cage the curls in big hair nets while letting their texture show through.”

  • Step 4

Next, mould the buns into different boldly-shaped bubbles.  The net helps to mold and hold the look of the hair at any height or direction desired. I pinned the shapes at their base and all the way to the front, to hold their form once they were created.

  • Step 5

To finish, spray the entire head with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong and then Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for an amazing shine that made the looks chic and modern.
