  • Adele

“Adele’s big hair matches her big voice,” declares Joico's Damien Carney. “It’s large and strong and evokes a modern ‘60s feeling.”

  • Amy Adams, Best Supporting Actress Nominee for The Master

Laini Reeves for Moroccanoil, combined Old Hollywood and Deco references in a unique, loose, and modern way.
"It was such a special gown, off the shoulder with a beautiful flow of fabric, that I definitely wanted to accent that glamorous nuance. I wanted to create a sense of freedom so the hair didn’t look like a set. The style had to emphasize shine to reflect the light, and define the detail in a silky looking way.  This allowed for a lighter, messier look without appearing disheveled.”

  • Emily Blunt, Golden Globe nominee for Best Actress

Laini Reeves for Moroccanoil conceived of a sophisticated style that emphasized loose-textured hair gathered into a beautiful high-placed bun inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s elegant look in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” “Emily’s dress was so amazing and sexy that I wanted to create a minimal look that showed off her beautiful features, with simple lines and an unstructured texture with lots of shine.”

  • Lena Dunham, creator and star of Girls

Inspired by Jean Seberg, Twiggy and Edie Sedgwick, stylist Rheanne White gave Dunham's look a modern flair with the use of Kevin Murphy products.

  • Naomi Watts, “Best Actress” nominee

Hairstylist Giannandrea Marongiu and Naomi Watts knew they wanted to create a classic look. He turned to old Hollywood greats, such as Carole Lombard, for inspiration, creating a faux, side-swept bob. Describing the look as “a bit more modern than old-Hollywood,” Giannandrea gently brushed out the curls for an updated take on a classic style, all using Matrix products.

  • Kate Hudson

Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii explains, "I wanted to show off Kate's healthy, shiny hair in a style that emphasizes her true Hollywood beauty. As the perfect "Muse" and my inspiration, Kate is my generation's Brigitte Bardot, showing off soft voluptuous hair that is touchable, glamorous and now Kate's very own signature look." David used IT&LY HAIRFASHION'S Purity Design Line to achieve this look.

  • Claire Danes

Best Golden Blond, according to Joico Celebrity Hairstylist George Papanikolas. “This is a beautiful, bright, buttery shade,” says George. “It’s arguably the most perfect, flattering blonde."

  • Francesca Eastwood

Best Bombshell Blonde! "Va-voom! This crystal-clear, pale blonde is the ultimate in Hollywood glamour…and the perfect shade for Clint’s little girl!" said Joico Celebrity Colorist George Papanikolas

  • Debra Messing

According to Joico's George Papanikolas , the Best Cabernet Red was sported by Debra Messing. "Messing’s cool red hue was a smash on the Globes red carpet—the perfect accessory to her milky skin and black gown. A blend of gold, copper and red mahogany produces the perfect, cool, balanced red."

  • Jennifer Lopez

Best “Bronde” ended in a Tie between Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Alba according to Joico's George Papanikolas. "Soft brown color melting into creamy ombré ends produces the perfect “bronde” marriage of brunette and blonde." George recommends using an ash-based formula that will neutralize the red undertones.

  • Jessica Alba

Joico's George Papanikolas couldn't decides between Jessica and Jennifer Lopez for the Best "Bronde" shade!

  • Julianne Moore

“I love the way Julianne’s beehive was reinvented,” says JOICO's Damien Carney. “It’s not over-worked or overly-backcombed—the size and proportion are perfect!”
