Kemon Days 2015 – 20 Years of Italian Hair Fashion!

The Italian city of Riccione hosted the 20th KemonDays event. A special birthday, complete with international shows and guests!

Twenty years of history. Twenty years of events. Twenty years of incredible guests – Italian and International – participating on stage. The 2015 KemonDays (held on 12th-13th April at PalaCongressi in Riccione) celebrated all these moments and reconfirmed the onstage successes in style and creativity achieved over the years by the team.

To kick off the two-day event, presented by Petra Lorregian, Giuliano and Aldo Nocentini welcomed the audience of over 800 hairstylists. There was a significant number of foreign attendees, arriving from Germany, Russia, the Middle East, Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia, Belgium and Austria. They were all given a genuine Italian greeting with Kemon products and a gift from Rome hairdresser Roberto Carminati, a partner of the San Sepolcro company, in the form of an all-Italian hairstyle linked to Expo Milano 2015, with an outfit by Gattinoni created for the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification.

Giuliano and Aldo Nocentini reminisced over some classic moments in the last twenty years of legendary KemonDays. And to celebrate the occasion, a panel exhibition dedicated to all of the twenty events – all the “ultra-loyal” hairdressers who have attended every single year were invited to take part and were awarded with a special celebratory poster, created by Estetica Magazine.

Inspiration: Fashion
The KemonDays event this year was even more fashion-oriented than ever, demonstrating their passion and careful attention to the fashion shows of all the major international cities. The main theme of the two day event (entirely dedicated to hairfashion shows) was the Fashion Weeks of New York, Milan, Paris and London, interpreted by Kemon partner hairstylists and the Young Team Italian Touch. All the hairstylists recalled the latest trends, via the hairlooks they created backstage in homage to the international catwalks.

Mauro Galzignato Show
The Artistic Director of Smart&Style, Mauro Galzignato, interpreted the latest catwalk fashions with his Rock’n’Roll concept. He kicked off with a look for men, a “cleaned-up” hipster style, as he described it, which is destined to remain an important trend for another couple of years at least. And then it was time for the women’s hairfashion, which strongly featured long, soft, featherlight hair, a combination of straight and slightly wavy looks. Fringes were also included. And finally, there was the return of the plait, interweaving with rough materials like leather.

Alessia Solidani Show
The first day of the KemonDays event finished off with the show by Alessia Solidani. Now a traditional guest of the Kemon event, audiences have come to expect elegant and refined ideas from this hairstylist from Rome. Her offering at the Riccione event focused on the Parisian Fashion Week. Elegance and attention to detail were key in her show, with long hair and particular attention to updo’s and waves, the classic elements of her hairfashion. “It’s wonderful to be here with you,” Alessia said. “After almost twenty years together, it’s still extremely exciting to be up here on this stage”.

Wild Fusion Show
The Monday morning of KemonDays opened with an on-stage performance by the German team Wild Fusion. They also presented the 800-strong audience with their interpretation of the hairstyling/Fashion Week combo but this show focused on the New York catwalks with a jubilation of long, wavy, flyaway, natural and tied-up hair. To finish off, they created some extremely fancy hairstyles.

Young Team Italian Touch Show
Education is one of the missions of the San Sepolcro company, as is the development and training of young hairdressers and upcoming talent. So, it was obvious that this category would also be represented on stage. The Young Team Italian Touch –led by Richard Thompson– offered their take on Milan Fashion Week, with some truly extraordinary proposals. Short hair was heavily featured, with lots of shaved looks and some daring ideas for bright and intense colors.

Richard Thompson Show
Kemon partner Richard Thompson (an almost-naturalized Italian who spends half the year in the wonderful countryside near Cortona) had the honour of winding up the 2015 KemonDays event. Richard organizes and holds training courses for the Italian brand, which are always fully-booked. And as he presented his three looks at Riccione, he also demonstrated his ability to teach technique and suggest effective work methods for the salon. Inspired by London Fashion Week, he offered three fashion ideas straight from the catwalks: Fashion Sport Style, Garden Party (clearly inspired by the Seventies and Flower Power), and Dark Angel, in homage to John Galliano’s return to the London catwalks.
