Perseverance and Gratitude: Bellus Celebrates Reopening and Gives Back to Essential Workers

Wednesday, 24 February 2021 09:08

Bellus Academy students and educators are celebrating the return to a “new normal” and saying “thank you” to essential workers as the salon and spa reopened to the public on Tuesday, February 16.

Following nearly a year of disruptions due to COVID-19 and California’s salon closures, the salon resumed serving clients with cosmetology, esthetics, barbering and manicure services on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.

As an expression of gratitude to essential workers, Bellus Academy will offer complimentary haircuts to essential workers including healthcare workers, first responders and supermarket employees. “Students and staff wanted to express their appreciation for the people who have been on the front lines throughout the pandemic, and offer the gift of a relaxing haircut and scalp massage,” said Bellus Academy owner Lynelle Lynch.

Bellus Academy, recognized in 2015 by Intercoiffure as the Top Academy in North America, is commemorating the resumption of services to the public with a specially priced menu of spa and salon services. The services will be provided in an environment designed to achieve high levels of sanitation and safety. In addition to enhancing air filtration systems during the shutdown, Bellus Academy has invested in plexiglass dividers throughout and educational protocols to support the highest levels of sanitation.

Remarking on the re-opening of services, Lynelle Lynch stated, “The past year has been a time of adaptation and creativity for students and faculty alike. While in many ways, technology has saved the day, there is no substitute for the power of touch, whether it’s a scalp massage, manicure or facial treatment.”

As State of California officials revise policies regarding business hours, Bellus Academy is aiming to return to full service hours by June 1, 2021.
