The Barberella, the first ever all female barbering, men’s haircutting and grooming competition, announces today its first annual photo and live competition sponsored by Mizutani Scissors, Reuzel Pomade, Wahl Clippers, YS Park, Mr. Brothers Cut Club, People’s Barber, Portland Razor Co, Takara Belmont, Free Salon Education and Attachment.
The company also announces that the host and MC of the live event is Stephen Moody [Dean of Education, Wella] and Mitchel Wilson [former Director of Education, Layrite], and the judges for the live competition will be; Schorem Barbers [The Bloody Butcher and The Bearded Bastard], Julius Caesar, Staygold31, Nina Kovner [Passion Squared], Daisuke Komatsu [Mr. Brothers Cut Club, Tokyo], Matt Beck [Free Salon Education] and Daniel Alfonso.

The photo competition is held online at www.thebarberella.com. The deadline to enter is June 21, 2017 by 9PM Pacific Time. Competitors can enter by registering on www.thebarberella.com and uploading a professional photo of their best men’s barbering haircut and style. From photo competition, 5 finalists will be selected and announced on June 23, 2017 to compete live on stage in downtown Los Angeles at the Globe Theater on Sunday July 16, 2017. Additionally, each of the 5 finalists will also win a set of 3 Mizutani Scissors, a set of 3 Wahl Clippers, the entire Reuzel Pomade line and a trip to Los Angeles for the live competition (Mandatory for competitor to use Mizutani Scissors, Wahl Clippers and Reuzel styling product on stage during the live competition).
One grand prize winner from live competition will win $5,000 and a 5 cities [Shanghai, Hong Kong, Fukuoka, Osaka, Tokyo] Asia tour with Schorem Barbier! Flights and hotel will be provided for finalists to travel to Los Angeles for live competition on Sunday July 16, 2017. Flights, lodging and food will be provided for one grand prize winner for Asia tour with Schorem Barbier in October 2017. Models will be provided for live competition. Finalists are able to bring her own model for live competition, however flights and hotel will not be provided for model.
