British Extravaganza: Davines Hair on Stage conquers London

The famous Hackney Empire Theatre in London hosted the British edition of Hair on Stage, the Davines event that energized its British professional community, celebrities of the industry and journalists of the specialised press, for a day dedicated to creativity and the latest hairstyling trends.

In the afternoon, guests had the opportunity of enjoying the hair shows, that saw the performances of some of the industry’s most prestigious stylists, such as Angelo Seminara, Davines Artistic Director, and four time winner of the British Hairdresser of the Year award. Known for his creativity and innovative spirit, Angelo presented his new Davines Star Icon collection sharing his passion and inspiration to encourage and inspire hairdressers and artists. “The UK date, dedicated to stylists and creative minds, gives us the opportunity to inspire and entertain the audience, whilst sharing and presenting new trends with artistic performances,” stated Angelo Seminara.

The first to go on stage was the world-famous British team, Allilon, that showed its creative research with a strong technical background in terms of cut and colour. Johnny Othona and Pedro Inchenko, founders of the Ena Salon and the Davines Academy bearing the same name based in London Covent Garden, took turns on stage with the rest of their talented team to present their latest collection “Wiggle”, drawing inspiration from the theories of philosopher Alan Watts.

The group of creative avant-garde always in contact with London culture and fashion, Blue Tit, followed to present a collection influenced by the word “psichedelia” in front of a wonderful audience of professionals with the creative flair of true hairstyling artists.

The stage was then given to the young talents of British hairstyling through the World Style Contest – an event that every year offers hairdressers worldwide the possibility of expressing their creativity and talent through photography and on-stage performance. On this occasion, five finalists from Great Britain competed to win the title of Best Stylist and the opportunity of star in the next World Wide Hair Tour 2018, the event gathering Davines global community together. The technical jury proclaimed the following winners: Best Stylist: Anna Carter, Best Cut: Alberto Lomartire, Best Color: Bozena Sarek. The Social Award, voted live on Davines UK’s facebook page, was won by Nicky Henno.

The show by Taylor Taylor, for the first time on Davines stage, presented the fashion and hairstyling trends in the various boroughs of London: East, Centre and West, confirming their recognition in London and in the world as high quality representatives of style training supporting the development of the hairdresser’s creative potential.

The Grand Final was left to the performance of Angelo Seminara, who presented his latest collection, Star Icon, and offered the audience a moment of deep artistic inspiration.
