Four such lucky cosmetology students have been selected to do just that—and even more—as the 2017 Beauty Changes Lives Leo Passage Scholarship winners. Each student will spend a week in Chicago, learning and working with mentors from Pivot Point International. Together they’ll create mood boards, select models and participate in a hair fashion photo shoot. The images will be perfect for their job portfolios upon graduation.
The winners: Congratulations are in order for Mathew Stradling of Bellus Academy in Poway, CA; Alaska Gaziola of the Beau Monde Academy of Cosmetology in Portland, OR; Holly Moretti of Penrose Academy, Scottsdale, AZ; and Latasha Coy of the Bellus Academy in Manhattan, KS.
Each submitted a video that followed the theme: Shout Your Beauty. Pivot Point Chairman and CEO Robert Passage congratulated each of the winners and noted, “They truly represent the spirit of both the beauty industry and Pivot Point. Their passion, creative curiosity, and pride in becoming a hairdresser were all evident in their videos. We look forward to working with them throughout this exciting week.”
Their prize-winning week will end at America’s Beauty Show and on the runway of the 2017 Beauty Changes Lives Experience: The Art of Prediction. We predict these four will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience and become leaders in the industry for many years ahead.
Don’t miss the four winners at the hottest event of the year, the Beauty Changes Lives Experience, March 26, 2017. The Pivot Point NEXTGEN team will present along with several Next Generation teams from beauty manufacturers including American Crew, CND, Matrix, Mizani, Redken, TIGI and Wella.
Each year the Leo Passage Scholarship celebrates a segment of the industry by offering a unique educational experience. Please check www.beautychangeslives.org in July for details. Applications for Fall accepted 8/21/17–10/16/17. Beauty Changes Lives scholarships are awarded to students attending a member school of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS).
