An International Triumph! Record-Breaking Numbers for the 21st Beautyworld Middle East

Record numbers for the 21st edition of the event: over 37,500 visitors and 1,530 exhibitors and continued strong growth of the MEA market!

The 21st edition of Beautyworld Middle East was hosted at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 15-17, 2016. This year’s numbers are record-holding, with over 37,500 visitors from 144 countries that went to the three-day event, and more than 1,500 exhibitors from 60 countries! In addition to the exhibition floor were 8 organized events as well as business and beauty summits, and more than 60 products launches.

Aside from the singular success of this annual celebration, the number of visitors to Beautyworld Middle East increases year by year by about 26%, and also a 9% increase in exhibition space. The Middle East and Africa (MEA) represent the market that, in the world, is growing faster for the perfume, hair and skin care, color cosmetics, spa, wellness and men’s grooming industries.

According to Euromonitor statistics, the MEA in personal care and beauty market, held a value of $25.4 billion in 2015, and the growth rate is estimated at around 6.4% over the next five years, which ultimately means an industry that will reach 34.7 billion dollars by 2020.

Beautyworld Middle East 2016 was a huge success reaching a record number of visitors that attended the event to meet new suppliers, test new products and get inspired by the latest trends and innovations,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Middle East and organizer of the fair. “There is no other place in the world where there is such a mix of exhibitors and visitors, all under one roof at one time.

The international trade fair atmosphere was higlighted by the presence of 22 national pavilions, including a Brazilian pavilion of 25 companies expected to generate more than $13 million as a direct result from the participation in Beautyworld Middle East.

We are delighted with the results that have reached our companies and even more so that each of them plans to participate new in 2017,” said Gueisa Silvério, the representative of the Brazilian pavilion, and added that during the event they billed $2.6 million.

Beautyworld Middle East brings together the most important companies of different areas: Cosmetics & Skincare; Hair, Nails & Salon Supplies; Fragrance; Machinery, Packaging & Raw Materials and Professional Equipment & Spa. Beautyworld Middle East 2016 was also characterized by a pavilion Organic and Natural, dedicated to green products.

The most significant events of the 2016 edition in hairdressing could be found in the Centre Stage by Nazih Group, where all three days were dedicated to training and demonstrations of the latest beauty and fashion trends, with the participation of fabulous celebrity hair colorist Tracey Cunningham. Meanwhile, the best barbers were competing in the ring to win the titles of UAE’s Best Barber, which was won by Sunil Ub (Hommage DIFC), and UAE’s Best Shave was won by Cherif Raissi (1847).
