Beauty India Show 2016 – A New Trade Show presenting Exciting Opportunities

The first edition of the Beauty India Show will be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai (October 24-26, 2016), with Bollywood star and TV personality Malaika Arora Khan as brand ambassador.

Organized by Sumansa Exhibitions, a name known in the fair organization sector worldwide, the Beauty India Show will be an opportunity to showcase products and gain position in the growing Indian market. The B2B event will also be the ideal platform to build long-term relations between producers, suppliers, and clients.

The Indian beauty and wellness market is among the top five in the world. With an estimated value of 950 million dollars and a growth rate of 18.6%, it is expected to reach 2.68 billion dollars in 2020. The growth rate will be twice as fast as in the United States and European markets. The growth in the buying power of working women represents a great opportunity for industries because 35% of women’s personal income is often spent on themselves.

Buyer-Seller Meet, On-Site Beauty Sessions, Seminars & Workshops, Demo Areas and Featured Products Area: the fair will be a platform for the launch of products, but also an opportunity to network between sector industries and a place where new partnerships can be sealed. Visitors are also expected to come for an exchange of ideas, for live demonstrations, and for presenting new technologies.

Beauty India focuses on skin care and hair care (professional, wellness, and product lines for personal care), cosmetics for make-up, products for personal hygiene, nail products and accessories, professional and Spa equipment, fragrances and machinery, packaging, and raw material supplies.

Mr. Pushkaraj Shenai, CEO of Lakmé Lever Pvt., the beauty services business of Hindustan Unilever, was nominated President of the Consultation Committee, made up of veteran sector leaders. “The beauty and wellness industry is booming worldwide and there is plenty of anticipation and excitement about industries in India, which is among the top five countries in the world for the beauty and wellness market,” says Himanshu Gupta, General Manager of Sales & Marketing B2B Events, at Sumansa Exhibitions.

One of the main objectives of Beauty India is to close the gap between international and local players. Healthy competition, encouraging response to innovative products for satisfying the Indian market and the continual increase in demand create space for new players and a sound turnover. Thanks to Beauty India, exporters will have the opportunity to enter in this great market, rich in opportunities,” added Himanshu.

Malaika Arora Khan, Beauty India Ambassador said: “If we look at the progress that India has made in the beauty and wellness industry, everything is positive in both sectors. In general, Indians have become more aware of their appearance and are willing to invest personal care to obtain the results they desire.”

In January 2016, a report published by Assocham, a leading trade association, estimated a growth of 28% of the luxury beauty products market in India over the past three years. The Confederation of Indian Industries, an association of Indian businesses, estimates that today’s beauty market has a value of 4.6 billion dollars with an expected growth between 18 and 20% over the next years.

Pushkaraj Shenai, Chairman, Advisory Committee Beauty India & CEO Lakmé Lever Pvt commented: “Beauty India has the potential to mould the future of the Indian beauty sector. Besides the opportunities on the domestic market, there is notable interest on global markets for all things Indian. Lakmé Salon and Lakmé Academy have played an important role in the beauty ecosystem for the entire country. I can’t wait to obtain the maximum results from the knowledge and expertise of the members of the Consultation Council and create a market of ideas and innovations that all Indian beauty professionals can be proud of.”
