Thursday, 14 January 2016 15:53

Candy Shaw, owner of Jamison Shaw Hairdressers and Creator of Sunlights® Balayage has been named New Membership Chair of Intercoiffure America/Canada, the world’s most prestigious international salon organization.

Candy was appointed by Frank Gambuzza, the organization’s President. Candy currently sits on Intercoiffure’s Board of Directors and has held that position since 2013. Her appointment as New Member Chair is just another in a long line of volunteer positions Candy has held on Intercoiffure’s behalf. Candy also sat on Intercoiffure’s Board from 2003 to 2006 when she simultaneously served as the organization’s Atelier Chairperson in charge of producing and emceeing Intercoiffure’s North American shows, including its yearly gathering in the Grand Ballroom of New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Candy was the 2005 recipient of Intercoiffure’s ‘Adolf Biecker Award of Excellence’ in recognition of her contributions to the beauty industry and in 2006 Candy was named ‘Personality of the Year’ by Intercoiffure Mondial (the International Chapter) at a black-tie ceremony in Paris.

Candy’s role as New Member Chair allows her to act as liaison between prospective members, specialty partners and manufacturers and the Board of Directors. As the world’s leading independent salon organization, membership is limited to the top one percent of salon owners world wide. According to Frank Gambuzza, President of Intercoiffure America/Canada, "I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Candy Shaw as the Intercoiffure America/Canada New Membership Chair. The combination of Candy's background with ICA and her current position as a world class educator make her the most qualified person for this position in America and Canada. As President, I am thrilled that she accepted this task and look forward to her contribution."

Shaw states, “I am humbled to be asked to be the New Membership Chairman, joining Intercoiffure was and is the single best business decision I ever made as a salon owner. I look forward to giving back to ICA the same degree of fellowship and wisdom it has given me through the years! If you are not yet a member, you owe it to yourself to consider Intercoiffure as your next sound business move!
