How To! David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust Inspired Look by Lori Panarello & Rebecca Hiele

Iconic David Bowie’s alter ego Ziggy Stardust served as the inspiration for KMS Global Style Council Member, Lori Panarello and Goldwell Artistic Director, Rebecca Hiele, when creating the model’s color and cut made of an eclectic mix of a 50’s pompadour meets 70’s rock and roll mullet meets punk.

Hiele created a burnt satin copper color, while Panarello created the eclectic style and cut the hair to create amazing texture for the look. Learn HOW TO!

COLOR:
Step 1: First, apply burnt satin copper, 40ml Topchic 6% + 30ml 7OO@GK + 10ml 7BG, to hair.
Step 2: Then, apply Elumen lightening citrus, 30ml GB@9 + 10ml GK@all + 1ml KK@all.
Step 3: Next, process hair for 30 minutes. Following, shampoo hair twice with Elumen Wash and towel dry hair.
Step 4: After, apply Elumen Lock for five minutes, then rinse and condition with Elumen Treat.

STYLE:
Step 1: First, apply KMS ADDVOLUME Styling Foam generously from scalp to ends.
Step 2: Then, section hair and clip from recession up to a pointed V section to just above the occipital bone.
Step 3: Next, blow dry hair using a flat styling brush from the hairline, moving front to back with no root lift.
Step 4: After, re-apply KMS ADDVOLUME Styling Foam to the top section of hair.
Step 5: Use a small VARIS Boar Brush to blow dry two inch sections, starting at the front hairline. Then use zigzag sections and over direct to create maximum root lift. Continue this from front hairline to occipital.
Step 6: Next, using a finishing brush, comb hair at the back of the scalp in the same zigzag pattern and blow dry from front to back.
Step 7: After, use KMS HAIRSTAY Working Hairspray to help collapse the sides of hair and blend sections from bottom to top.
Step 8: Finish the look off by smoothing the top of hair and creating light volume with your hands. Complete the look by spraying KMS HAIRSTAY Finishing Spray.
