How To: Metallic Hair Top Coats with Zzio Gala

Friday, 16 October 2015 23:33

This fall, one of the hottest hair trends is metallic. Stylists can achieve this look quickly and beautifully with Pravana's new ChromaSilk Express Tones. Learn how to!

Created by Pravana in collaboration with hair guru Guy Tang to coincide with the new Pure Enlightenment Balayage Kit launch, the Express Tones are gentle and ammonia-free, leaving hair shinier and healthier in under five minutes. These hair top coats come in eight intermixable shades so stylists can use them to offer customized color for their clients following Balayage, highlighting or blonding services.

With the metallic trend taking off this fall, be sure to have the Express Tones in Violet, Ash, Pearl, Copper, Gold and Clear at your stylist station for clients looking to embrace this high-shine style.

To get the metallic look using the Express Tones, combine one part Express Tones to 1 1/2 parts ChromaSilk Zero Lift then apply to damp hair. Leave on for five minutes for a gorgeous sheen, or up to 10 minutes if you’re looking for an even deeper tone. By adding Clear to your formula, you can achieve an even shinier, metallic result on strands.

Pravana Artistic Director and Education Leader Zzio Gala demonstrated (see images above) how to create this gorgeous, muted look. On Level 10 strands, Zzio applied ChromaSilk Express Tones in Violet, Ash, Pearl and a customized Ash+Clear shade to different sections of hair and allowed them to process for five minutes, then styled.
